Merida
If you're on the hunt for authentic Mexican cuisine in Houston, look no further than Merida. Nestled at 2509 Navigation Blvd, this vibrant restaurant has quickly become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors alike, boasting a reputation that echoes with authenticity and flavor.
Merida connects diners to the rich culinary traditions of Mexico, and their menu reflects this commitment profoundly. From traditional favorites to Yucatan specialties, every dish is a testament to quality ingredients and time-honored cooking methods. Let’s dive into some highlights:
- Carne Guisada: Tender beef tips simmered in a special sauce, served with rice, beans, and a refreshing guacamole salad for just $15.95.
- Tacos Al Carbon: Two charbroiled beef skirt tacos wrapped in soft flour tortillas, accompanied by rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, and bean soup for $16.95.
- Cochinita Pibil: Marinated roast pork that's simply unforgettable, served with rice, black beans, marinated onions, and warm tortillas for only $15.45.
- Jumbo Breakfast Taco: A generous portion of scrambled eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, and cheese enveloped in a warm flour tortilla, available for just $5.25. Perfect for those big appetites!
But Merida isn’t just about the food – it’s a full experience. As one happy customer, Melissa Motives, aptly put it, “the atmosphere is great and the music is good too!” The welcoming staff, including the attentive owner, makes you feel right at home. It’s clear that Merida values every patron, ensuring you not only enjoy the meal but also the overall vibe.
Many diners rave about the generous portions and tasty offerings. Trisha Johnson described her visit with a party of seven as “good, fast, fresh, and plenty to take home.” Similarly, Clifford Brazier highlighted the “fast and efficient service” that allows for a relaxed yet fulfilling dining experience.
But what sets Merida apart is its dedication to tradition. Sheila Pursifull reminisced about how the flour tortillas are made by hand — a detail that emphasizes authenticity over convenience. Customers like Ellery Glenn and Priscilla Hernandez affirm the value of the meals, consistently mentioning not just the tasty dishes but also the priced perfection and ample portions.
Treat yourself to a culinary treasure — whether it's brunch or a cozy evening dinner, Merida promises great food, a friendly atmosphere, and authentic flavors that keep seasoned food lovers coming back. Grab your friends and family, head over to Merida, and let each bite take you on a delicious journey through Mexico.

Merida serves delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere is great and the music is good too! Staff is super nice. The owner walked over to ask us if everything was good. We found this place on SHOP LOCAL. Download it and get cash back next time you dine at Merida.

Stopped in 4/22/24 @11am with my mother, it was my first time visiting. I really wasn't hungry so I ordered 1 taco, the big breakfast taco... I didn't think nothing much of it till it showed up lol. My mother ordered the chicken fajita taco lunch special. All was good and the portions were great. Can't forget the fresh salsa and chips which was still hot when we got it. Thank you for everything. We'll be back for sure.

Super friendly place with fast and efficient service. The portions were very generous, so much so that we all went home with doggy bags. Specially recommended: alambres al carbon (shish kebab).

Man, Merida did not disappoint. Walked in with a party of 7 and was seated immediately, no wait time. The first section was full so we had the whole second section to ourselves. Food was good, fast, fresh and plenty to take home. Everyone was full and satisfied. First time visiting and will recommend.
